There’s nothing better to beat the jet-lag, reverse culture shock and a simple feeling of missing someone than doing something you really love to do. The category takes everything from procrastination to hobbies.

This time the post is dedicated to Japanese super funny TV character Dōmo-kun, and big thanks for inspiration is sent to SpecialC.

Since I’m going to travel through few countries and visit different spots/cities (from Copenhagen to Cincinnati OH) the map should be world based and have those main spots with freshly updated photos. It also should connect the routes and pathways in between the key-points showing current location/trips which were already taken and those which will be taken in the near future.

In about two hours first prototype was made, which  needs a little bit more adjustments to stability and a bit more functionalities, such as mini cms.

Prototype was build using simple technologies: html/css and jquery/javascript. Implementing it more adding different functionalities from serverside could transform this piece into fully functional product. Few screenshots from early prototype development:

I’m a huge fan of the most popular typeface Helvetica and perfect shot, not that into bad photos (what is bad photo exactly, huh?), vintage effects, therefore the decision to try to save some random (not bad) shots was made:

What do you think, is the recipe true and helps any kind of photo become better or even a delicious eye candy?

Have you heard about the game called Power Hour? Rules are simple (rules? – about 1 main): 1 shot of beer every minute for one hour. Might seem like an easy thing to do, but during that hour overall perception of time bends at least few times and leaves one full of liquids almost throwing up, moreover last minute crashes with overwhelming feeling of being tipsy.

What motivates one to keep doing daily things or start new ones? One answer could be a simple sense of self-discipline, but it wouldn’t answer the question completely, because the fact that majority of people around you are motivated by so many different things you could not even list them all without going crazy.

What motivates one to stay fit? Probably that natural aesthetics driven inner self. In my case it’s to be “ready for action”. In fact it means to be ready for everything what can happen in daily life of today or tomorrow. In details: I run like crazy, because I want to be able to outrun 1000 raging bears. Sounds funny, but this simple example is what actually motivates me.

There are few other different things, which are essential and one of them is swimming. Planning to learn to swim during my own summer of 2010 since December, but never had I ever found a motivation to learn to swim, because there was never urgency nor need to, apart those sadly funny times when drowning occurred. Therefore being ready for action and living by the sea side inspires me more than anything and the decision to learn to swim was made.

Really sketchy resolution:

In one week (totally free time before traveling to visit SpecialC) spending at least half an hour in open waters. I’m planning to become ready to out-swim 1000 raging dolphins.

Recently, a friend asked how many different social media networks I surf constantly, daily. Without really thinking or considering answered “more than 15″. Obviously it was a lie, because some of those are other places, which might be also marked as a bit different kind of networks.

Therefore this post with 10 creative and inspiring web spots will list some of those places which are separated for daily visits whenever there is a bit of time to procrastinate or just lurking for inspiration, interesting material.

1. the Creators Project

This one is my favourite when it comes to creativity in general. Combining presentations and interviews with creative individuals and their works with interesting reviews, events and blogs is what makes this place solid and worth being tagged as inspiring.

2. Inspired Magazine

Subtitle on the front page “creativity & inspiration” says more then needed. This place is full of random yet fresh and solid inspiring material. Posts varies from web design, articles, trends to videos and more.

3. Pixiome

This one is covers “visual trends”, and in fact I came across this place recently and fell in love within the seconds of seeing some of the eye catchy elements. Originally website is in french, but using the option of automatic google translate helps a lot.

4. Live and Inspire Magazine

This magazine is a pure example of magazine I would like to read in a printed paper version. It’s about the inspiration in everyday life next to you, to lift the spirit and motivate. Warm and simple articles make web spot welcoming.

5. Color lovers

Palettes, Paterns, trends etc. this place combines it all, giving a possibility to explore vast numbers of examples, share your own colors, be a part of the community – everything about colors. A really helpful tool for every designer out there.

6. Creative Review

The title says pretty much everything this spot covers. Place is full of reviews varying from art to photography, books and typography. If you are interested in design, visual culture or advertising this one is a perfect place to visit.

7. Smashing Magazine

Famous across the internet as a thing, which is really helpful if you find yourself in those shoes titled “web”. Everything about it: design, development, showcases, reviews, tutorials etc.

8. Design Milk

Online magazine which covers modern design publishing “what’s fresh and new in art, architecture, interior design, furniture and decor, fashion, and technology”. Crisp, clean and neat is how it feels whilst browsing this spot.

9. Pictory

Going crazy for the photography? What about adding a bit different perspective to it and put whole story next to it? That’s right Pictory sums those two things and brings a different experience for viewing photo showcases.

10. Design Related

Last but not the worst is another inspiration driven network-community bringing different type user portfolios, external news, jobs and features – everything what’s related together in one spot.

Of course there are hundreds more places worth visiting, I just stated couple of those which by no accident bump into my mind to visit whilst browsing. If you like this post feel free to leave a feedback or share your own web spots. Cheers

This is about how one of the recent emails sounds. You see after finishing the AP program of Multimedia design and communication I also wanted to step further and top-up my knowledge. Therefore after waiting for a while for the admission it finally arrived and I’m more than happy to announce official start of the summer.

The Professional Bachelor of Web Development programme is an 18-month degree course. The programme focuses on the development of web technologies within a number of different application fields and a number of different distribution platforms. We consider it particularly important that you work with technologies that will enable you to undertake many different kinds of jobs. These may be anything from advanced web development projects, where the products are aimed at many different platforms, to the use of multimedia in integrated communication solutions.

What inspires more than completing goals? Probably the urge to visit new places and meet beloved ones: packing my luggage cases for a trip to visit SpecialC, so depended on time some blog posts might be posted from overseas from the shadow of uncle Sam.

If you are creative dude or dudette you probably have one of those specific techniques which just drives you crazy and whenever you take a pencil, a brush, a hammer or any other tool makes you whisper: “gosh, I love this”.

To draw with watercolors works as a perfect trance for me and it doesn’t matter if I’m working on fast sketch for tshirt design or just doodling around to keep the mind and level of creativity fresh. Moreover feels like it was mention at least few times before in this blog, in previous posts containing such kind of pictures.

Here’s a picture created recently with a touch of summer, just to get back on track and reboot the system which was lacking outside/free time creative works. In fact this even works as a therapy just to take a rest from all the digital media still investing in the creativity whilst kicking procrastination’s butt. Let’s call it raging owls, why? they are craaaazy because of the insanely hot weather in Denmark.
