Michael Jackson: Braking the walls (they don’t really care about us)

Maybe it’s a little bit too much just being hypocrite and trying to stretch Michael Jackson as charismatic person only after his death, before hating him – just see how the press and other types of media acts now and how it was before.

Then he was more or less negative type of person, but I just found another activism based article about him by Stanislovas Tomas from anarchija.lt website and I cannot disagree with his points about Michael Jackson as a person who tries to brake, destroy those walls which keeps the distance from rich and dying from starvation people.

ABOLISH RESTAURANTS

Abolish Restaurants is an illustrated guide to the daily misery, stress, boredom, and alienation of restaurant work, as well as the ways in which restaurant workers fight against it. Drawing on a range of anti-capitalist ideas as well as a heaping plate of personal experience, it is part analysis and part call-to-arms. Includes HOW A RESTAURANT IS SET UP:, What is a Restaurant? . The Production Process . Division of Labor and Use of Machines . Intensity and Stress . Tips . Customers . Coercion and Competition, HOW A RESTAURANT IS TAKEN APART:, What the Worker Wants . Work Groups . Workers, Management and Worker-Management . Unions . A World Without Restaurants. Adjusted and reprinted as an A5 pamphlet by us!

I’ve been reading this today and thought than EVERYONE should read it (and by ‘everyone’ I mean everyone who ever worked in a restaurant (or wishes to start working) or simply dined there at least once in the lifetime) .
As a person who has quite a lot of restaurant work experience, both under ‘boss’ management and co-op, I want to tell that this “Abolish Restaurants” piece is immensly well put and pictures a lot of day-to-day situations, representing some naked thruth and giving an insider’s look to behind the scenes. To give even more praise, it summarises everything real good, reasonably, has some nice quotes and illustrations.  Great piece of  anarchist-style writing.
Frankly, it was one of the things that made my day.

Enjoy :)

p.s. As mentioned above, it’s adjusted to be printed, so (if reading online) you have to go through pages reading first half and then backwards reading the rest of the text. Anyway, each page has a number on it so you shouldn’t get lost!
